I Wrote This Back In 2008, And Look Now...

Pin It Now!

Is it just me or does it seem like the dollar doesn't mean a thing
anymore? Everything we need is going up, but the paychecks aren't
moving. Gas is riddiculous. I remember when it was 1.01 for a gallon.
Milk is expensive, bread went up. Bills went up. It cost a lot to be
broke now a days....
Rent is expensive. A decent one bedroom is in the 900 dollar range.
That would be great if utilites were included, but they aren't. So you
figure the average working person brings home anywhere from 650 to 800 a
check after taxes. So for mr or mrs 650: 1300-900=400 and 1600-900=700.
That's after rent. Now: 400-100 (phone, cable, internet)=300- 200
(groceries/ necessities)=100- 50 (hopefully lights)=50 left a month. I
almost forgot that cell phone bill. Uh oh! Well that will be paid when
its paid. For mr or mrs 1600 they are left with 350 more or less. A
little better. And these are the things we need just to have a roof over
our head. This is just an example. Hope your rent isn't more than that!
What happened to the money? It seems like everyone and they momma is
still living with they momma. And u gotta contribute there too. So where
are you left to stand? Yup, you waitin for that check just like me uncle
sam said he's giving out. And chances are that check will be spent
within 24 hours on things u need to catch up on. It won't boost the
economy. It will just be an extension to the ongoing epic of check to
check. So the state of the dollar to me, is that its something u can't
save anymore. Its something that goes into someones hands as soon as you
get it.
