When Instagram came out for Android, all the BlackBerry users were screaming what about us. Along with Instagram, we don't have Netflix, Hulu, Skype, and plenty other apps I can name either. We just got Angry Birds this year on the PlayBook! Gone are the days of just having a keyboard and being able to text fast and get emails instantly. People want apps, and great ones!
Yes, BlackBerry has its strong points (Wi-Fi Calling, best email services, BBM 7, best version of UberTwitter and Facebook) but we need more. Apps are the key to making everyone happy. Apple has tons of apps. Android has almost everything Apple has and if they don't, it usually takes a few months for them to get it. Even Windows Phone is making a run for it.
My solution for BlackBerry would be to get the apps. That's all that it is missing. The phones are great, the hourglass doesn't show up much anymore, and the trackpad has been a blessing.
While I'm not too thrilled that the new BlackBerry I want (The N-Series, X10, Z10 or whatever they will eventually call it), doesn't have a trackpad, I will adjust. I'd say keep the body of the 9900 and update it with the front facing camera and better processor with the BlackBerry 10 OS along with a better camera in the back (WITH AUTOFOCUS LIKE THE 9700 SERIES), and there's nothing else to do. Stick to one type of phone. Apple has gotten people to buy the same type of phone all these years and as you can see it is working.
I'm not a fan of the all touch BlackBerry phones. It feels weird and the first Storm opened the floodgates to people leaving BlackBerry. That phone was horrible! I don't think people would mind if you guys decided to keep going with keyboards.
So in closing, all BlackBerry needs are better apps and a phone that everyone can pick up and enjoy once they open the box. (PS PLEASE DO NOT GIVE ME A 5 INCH SCREEN. KEEP IT THE WAY IT IS NOW!) And please let us know from now if you will get these apps. Build hype. Build anticipation! It seems like you guys have forgotten that.
All you have to say is that these apps are coming, and BlackBerry will be back on top.
